Amy and Derek live in Baltimore, but they spend a lot of time at Amy’s parents place in Ocean Pines, MD. If you have never been to Ocean Pines, it is a bayfront community right outside of Ocean City, MD. You can actually see Ocean City from the Yacht Club. Everyone here seems to have boats and rides them through the channels (the channels seem like streets) to wherever they might be going. It seems like a great lifestyle if you ask me. Derek actually proposed to Amy in Ocean Pines with a pretty awesome proposal (but that story is for another time) so it was the perfect location for them to get married. When I first met with Amy and her mom, we clicked right away. They were both so excited that Amy had found Derek and could not wait to plan the big celebration the Ocean Pines Yacht Club. It was so adorable! I did not have an engagement session with these two so the next time I talked with Amy was a couple of weeks before the wedding and she had even more good news. She was pregnant! It is one exciting thing after another for these two and they couldn’t be happier and I couldn’t be happier for them. On the wedding day, both Amy and Derek got ready at separate waterfront houses (one of which was Amy’s parent’s house). The getting ready part of the day was so relaxing and the weather although still hot, was perfect and it wasn’t raining at all. Amy and the bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous–seriously one of the best looking groups I’ve seen. There ceremony was super sweet and I think the smiles were permanently plastered on both Derek and Amy’s faces all day long. After the ceremony, we headed inside and upstairs to the gorgeously draped ballroom. The Bachelor Boys Band kept the dancefloor packed all night long. Everyone had a fabulous time and I’m so happy I got to be a part of it. I wish Amy & Derek the best of luck as they continue their journey together as a married couple and soon-to-be parents. Congrats you two!
