Nick & Jill | Pier 7 Heliport | Baltimore Proposal Photographer

Nick originally called me in January…..for a June proposal! Talk about a planner. Typically guys will call me 2-3 weeks before they are going to propose. But I suppose when you are planning an amazing and over-the-top proposal like this, a 2-3 week window just doesn’t cut it. Like most couples now, Jill knew this day was coming soon, but Nick was dead set on surprising her even though he’s not a very good “liar” and Jill is really good at reading him. Well he definitely surprised her….over and over again!

Nick told Jill they were going to a banquet for his work so she would get dressed up. While they were driving to the “banquet,” she was busy doing her own work stuff on her phone and didn’t even notice Nick was driving the wrong way. They pulled up to the Pier 7 Helipad area and as they got out of the car, she had a pretty good idea of what was about to happen. Nick took her out on the helipad and proposed right there (surprise #1). It was so sweet and so adorable…and um the most perfect backdrop ever. After the initial shock, Jill’s sister and brother-in-law came out from hiding (surprise #2). And Nick informed Jill all four of them were going to ride in the helicopter to St. Michaels to have dinner (surprise #3). At this point, one would imagine the surprises are over. Nope. Jill kept asking if any of her family and friends knew the proposal was happening today. Nick and Jill’s sister kept a straight face and told her no one else knew the exact day. After a few portraits, the crew headed off in the helicopter. At this point, my job was done but luckily I know the next surprise so I can tell you now. After dinner in St. Michaels, they flew back to Baltimore and drove to The Boathouse. All of those people who supposedly didn’t know about the proposal were waiting there to celebrate with them (surprise #4)! Since I wasn’t there at that point, you will have to get Nick & Jill to fill you in on the details, but wow, right?? Good job Nick.

So, so happy for these two and I’m glad I could capture so much love and happiness for these two!
