Kyle & Wayne | Lincoln Memorial | DC Proposal Photographer

Oh how I just love proposals! Wayne planned this proposal very well! He started the day off telling Kyle that their friend William wanted to visit the DC monuments for the day. I thought this was a great tactic to keep Kyle from suspecting anything. Who would ever suspect that a proposal was about to happen with a third wheel? It also worked out well because I could text back and forth with William instead of Wayne for updates on their location. When they were all at the reflecting pool, I received the go from William that they were almost there. I blended in with the hundreds of tourists with cameras there that day and kept my eyes open for Kyle & Wayne. When I spotted them, I followed behind them as they came up the stairs to the Lincoln Memorial. William suddenly got an “important phone call” and told Kyle & Wayne to continue looking and he would be right there. Wayne led Kyle to the side of the Lincoln Memorial where they had a little bit of privacy. As they were almost to the back, in between two of the columns, Wayne had arranged a little set up of champagne, pictures of the two of them, and a book he had made. I imagine Kyle probably had a hint of what was about to happen when she saw this. I loved how Wayne didn’t rush the proposal. They looked through the book Wayne had made which had more pictures of the two of them as well as a page dedicated to a different place. In the book, Kyle talked about the progression of their relationship and memories at each of the places. Kyle was crying tears of happiness as she was reading it. Of course, the last place in the book was the Lincoln Memorial and at this point Wayne got down on one knee and asked Kyle to marry him. After the actual proposal, the two sat on the side of Lincoln Memorial sipping champagne and chatting. It was so perfectly cute. After 15 minutes or so, Wayne had more surprises up his sleeve as family and friends (some of whom had traveled from out of town) surprised Kyle. This of course brought even more tears. I’m so happy I was able to be a part of this special day with Kyle & Wayne. I wish them much luck in their future together!

Maria & Valantis | Brookside Gardens | Baltimore Engagement Photographer

Maria & Valantis drove all the way from Delaware for their engagement session. I met them at the gorgeous Brookside Gardens in Silver Spring, Maryland. We saw maybe three people the the entire time we were there so we had free reign of the place which is always good when you are photographing a couple. Maria & Valantis were so easy to photograph which made it even better. Most couples are either good at laughing photos or the serious photos but these two were fabulous at both! I can’t wait to photograph them again next year at their Greek wedding!

Allie & Ryan | Baltimore Country Club | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

I first met Allie & Ryan when they came to my house for thier consult. Not only were Allie & Ryan at the consult, but Allie’s mom and sister as well as Ryan’s mom were there. It was really great getting to know the family before the wedding as well as Allie & Ryan! Allie immiately struck me as a very classic girl from Conneticut and I could picture in my head what her wedding would be like after first meeting her. I love when that happens! Kate from Elizabeth Bailey Weddings did an amazing job bringing together the vision that Allie & Ryan wanted for their wedding day. Baltimore Country Club never looked so fabulous! Oh and did I mention the non stop dancing thanks to the always fun Sly 45? One thing I could also tell after meeting Allie & Ryan for the first time is that they both have amazing and supportive families. The love and excitement these two families have for their children and this marriage was evident throughout the entire day. So sweet! I’m so happy I was the one that was there to capture memories for these two. Big congrats to Allie & Ryan!

Arielle & Andrew | Private Residence | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

I did not get the opportunity to meet Arielle & Andrew in person before their wedding since we had a Skype consult and no engagement session, but its so funny how you can just fall in love with a couple and click with them after spending the day photographing their wedding. Although, I’m pretty sure a lot of people feel this way about Arielle & Andrew because they are those kinds of people. Arielle & Andrew now live in NYC but they wanted to come back to Arielle’s hometown to get married. For the venu, they decided that Arielle’s grandparent’s backyard was the perfect location and it was. The way the backyard is set up, it is almost like it was made to host a wedding not to mention the nastalgia and all of the memories the location will now hold. Brianna from Nouvelle Weddings did an absolutely amazing job making sure everything was gorgeous and exactly how Arielle & Andrew had imagined.  Sasha’s Catering made DELICIOUS (per their usual) stations for dinner. And did I mention there was a s’mores station for dessert? S’mores are seriously my favorite. The dancing started and never ended. This was such a fun crew and I had a blast photographing this wedding! I’m so happy for Arielle & Andrew.

Karen & Kirpal | Elkridge Furnace Inn | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

I started the day off getting ready with both Karen & Kirpal at their home. It was fun having both the bride and groom in the same location because I could run back and forth between the two groups easily. We headed over to Elkridge Furnace Inn for the ceremony and reception, but first we took some portraits in the gorgeous gardens that surround this venue in Elkridge, Maryland. The ceremony was so sweet and it is evident how much these two love each other. After the ceremony, it was time for dinner and dancing. The music was a mix of club music for Kirpal and 80’s and pop for Karen. I’m so happy I was the one there to document their day!
